We had both ends of the Iowa spring weather spectrum this week and the kids were really feeling it by the end of the week. Please make sure that you send your first grader with appropriate attire to play outside at recess. We had many friends freezing this week as it went from 70's to 40's and windy really quick. We did have indoor recess quite a bit this week, but most days, if it's not rainy, we send them out to play!
Keep reading for upcoming events and reminds, and as always, feel free to contact me with any questions at swilaby@crprairie.org.

PE Survey

Sight Words
We have now learned all of the first grade sight words. Students are doing a pretty good job of reading the words, but we could use some extra practice with spelling them. The sight word lists from now on will be a review of some of the trickier first grade words. Please practice reading and writing these sight words each night with your child. Our goal is for students to be able to read the words quickly without having to sound them out and to spell them accurately in their writing. Students can also practice these sight words through fun games and activities at the following website: https://www.spellingcity.com/1stgrade1516/
If you would like a list of what specific words your child should be working on, please email me.
