Writing

Encourage your child to write about anything and everything. Some students may draw pictures and label it to begin with, others may write sentences to describe their picture, and still others may just want to write words to create a story. The idea is we want our children to be excited about writing so let their imagination run wild!
Writing is a perfect opportunity for your child to practice their sight words! They can practice writing each word individually or write them in sentences throughout a story (see reading page for a list of words).

My Story Maker is a great website where students can create their own digital stories. They can choose their characters, setting, and topic. Children have many opportunities for creativity, as they can change the setting and add details to their stories. Students can preview before they print and share their stories.
