Beginning the Countdown to Summer!

We had a week full of adventure both in our classroom and on our field trip to the Indian Creek Nature Center. We began a unit on money in math, focusing on pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. We also finished up our personal narrative writing unit by publishing our work digitally on the iPads. Next week we will start one of my favorite writing units, "How to" writing. Our field trip to the Indian Creek Nature Center was a blast! We got to explore several different habitats throughout the nature center and looked for plants and animals. Thanks so much to our volunteer chaperones that came along with us! We did explored a fun website today in computer lab where students could experiment with animal adaptations. Check it out here!

We also came in this morning and found a "Crest Quest" note and a locked box from our secret friend "Sir-Thinks-A-Lot" who is going to be giving us challenges each day to help us prepare for second grade and maybe earn extra surprises for the last 10 days of school! We were able to complete today's challenge and earned some extra time outside at recess.
