Spring Has Sprung (Hopefully!)

Our week went fast in room 13 (although that may have been because I spent three of those days away from the kiddos), but we still got a lot of learning accomplished! We spent the week beginning our new science unit on plants and animals, practicing telling time to the hour and half hour, and learning more about crafting our own personal narratives. It seems as though we are finally in for some nice weather, hopefully you all got a chance to get out and enjoy it this weekend!

First Grade Need to Knows

April 25th - PJ and Stuffed Animal Day (pending guest teacher notes)

May 1st - PBIS Meeting 5:30-6pm

May 7th - NO SCHOOL

May 16th - Indian Creek Nature Center Field Trip 11-2pm

Field Trip

On May 16th, first graders will be heading on a field trip to the Indian Creek Nature center as a part of our plants and animals unit in science. Your first grader will need to bring a sack lunch for the day, but they can also sign up for a school made sack lunch, if needed. We are also in need of a few adult volunteers to come with our class. If you are interested, please let me know. Space is limited, so volunteer chaperone spots will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

PBIS Meeting

Our Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) team would like to invite you to our meeting on Tuesday, May 1st from 5:30-6:00pm. Our topic of conversation will be school to home behavioral supports. Please fill out our survey and let us know if you will be able to attend. We look forward to your participation. Thank you!

Upcoming Guest Teacher Days

I have been really fortunate this year to not have to be out of the classroom very much, however, April and Early May have brought me several professional opportunities to grow, so I will be out of the classroom for a few days and wanted to let you all know ahead of time to help prep your first grader to have a great day with a guest teacher.

Below are the upcoming dates I will be gone.

April 23rd Afternoon - District Revision Team Work

April 24th Morning - Dr's Appointment for Baby (We get our big ultrasound!)

April 30th - State Testing Administration

May 2nd-3rd - MTSS Training
