It was a short week and a bit of a crazy week with testing, delays, and irregular schedules, but we made it through and still had time for learning and fun! A major highlight for us this week was working on our Rube Goldberg machines during science! Check out our videos on Seesaw...you'll be pretty impressed with what our first graders came up with! Please read below for all of the important upcoming events and reminders! As always, check out daily updates on our Facebook.

Upcoming Events/Reminders
Crest Literacy Night – January 26th 5:30-7:00
Crest Fun Fair – February 11th 11:00-2:00
100th Day of School

On Wednesday, February 1st we will all be 100 days smarter! We will be celebrating with many different activities throughout the day - one of these activities will be "100 Snack Mix". We are asking for your help in order to make this special treat.
Take a look at the class sign up to see if there is anything you can contribute - we will need all items the morning of February 1st. Thanks for your help!
Fun Fair Basket

Our classroom needs your help to have the BEST silent auction basket for the Fun Fair which will be taking place at Prairie Crest on Saturday, February 11th from 11:00-2:00.
Our classroom theme for this year’s basket is “Movie Night.” We are looking for donations for our basket centered around this theme. Please sign up for an item and bring it to school by Friday February 3rd.
What is the Fun Fair? Students and their family and friends get to enjoy games, prizes, scavenger hunts, and classroom competition. The event is also a major fundraising event for Crest PTO by raising money through raffles and auctions.
The money that is raised from this goes to financially support your child’s field trips, classroom supplies, building security and equipment, playground equipment, and to school events such as the Fun Fair.
Sight Words
Students will be learning the following first grade sight words next week.
Please practice reading and writing these sight words each night with your
child. Our goal is for students to be able to read the words quickly without
trying to sound them out. Students can also practice these sight words through
fun games and activities at the following website:
