Our First Graders ROCK!

Well, it was a crazy week on my end, to say the least. It all started normal, but turned a little crazy when I became unexpectedly sick on Tuesday evening. I had a meeting for half the day on Tuesday, and was home sick Wednesday and Thursday, but our first graders were so absolutely wonderfully flexible and fantastic this week! I absolutely HATE being away from the classroom, especially unexpectedly, and especially 3 days in a row, but your children made it a little easier on me because they were so great for Mrs. Hayes when she taught our class and were very flexible and respectful when they had to split up our class and join the other first grade classrooms! When I finally got back to school on Friday, they were all so welcoming and made me feel great to be back!
It wasn't all good news when I came back though, because when I came in to school on Friday morning I had discovered that all of our comfy spots were gone and a note was left from the Grinch himself telling us he was holding them hostage until we solved a number of puzzles to set them free. The Grinch was clever and made some pretty difficult riddles and puzzles to solve, but we were smarter :) After it was all said and done, we solve all of the puzzles, including the final one that had us sing "Jingle Bells" in the office and finally got our comfy spots back! Read below for our "Need to Knows".

Think B4 U Speak Week

The College Community School District focuses on anti-bullying efforts and ways to make our school community safer. This year, during the week of January 16th, the CCSD is celebrating our 7th annual district-wide “Think B4 U Speak Week”.
This special week is dedicated to recognizing the importance of taking a collective stand against bullying, and working together to continue to establish a community that is both a safe and exciting place to be a part of.
We will celebrate the conclusion of the week with a district-wide “Kindness Day” on Friday, January 20th. If you would like to order the shirt that has been designed for this event, please fill out the form below and return to school. You can also order online at: http://thinkb4uspeak.bigcartel.com/
